With its hot summers and mild winters, Andalusia offers an ideal climate for paragliding. With around 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, you can enjoy pleasant temperatures and good flying conditions even in autumn and winter. Sunshine and thermals while the rest of Europe is still in winter mode. Flying is possible year-round, although conditions are often too strong in summer and late spring (+7 m/s).
Depending on weather and flying conditions, many beautiful flying sites are available nearby: Sierra Lújar, Algodonales, Montellano, El Bosque, Matalascañas, La Herradura, Teba and Cenes de la Vega in the Sierra Nevada.
In the Andalusian hinterland, you follow the many griffon vultures in thermals until you are high above launch, or you can soar for hours along the coast in dynamic lift, before enjoying delicious Spanish tapas.
Luc Christiaans has been visiting this region for many years and has organised several flying trips here in the past. Together with Peter Verrelst, he will guide you in discovering the local thermals.

Insurances
BVVF paragliding equipment
Mandatory. Anyone participating in an Airsport club activity must be a member of the Belgian Free Flight Federation (BVVF) and be insured through the BVVF. Please note: the student insurance taken out for trainees during the training programme (school slopes and courses) is not sufficient. Insurance via a foreign free flight federation is also not sufficient to participate in Airsport training activities.
Travel assistance insurance
Recommended. Insurance covering medical assistance and/or repatriation if needed. Medical assistance is not included in the BVVF paragliding insurance. Travel assistance insurance with Europ-Assistance is available from €18.
Cancellation insurance
Recommended. If you are unable to participate in the trip (medical issues, major unforeseen events, etc.), cancellation insurance allows you to reclaim your registration fee easily. The best option is offered by Europ-Assistance and can be combined with the travel assistance insurance above. Cancellation insurance is available from €15.
Sessions
Club Reis - Algodonales
Met de club reizen trekken we samen naar meer exotische plekken en ontdekken we het luchtruim, maar ook de regio. We boeken samen een verblijf en vervoer en delen de kosten. De clubreis is 6 dagen, maar voorzie van zaterdag tot zondag, want dan kunnen we de beste tickets boeken.
We verblijven in een hostel, kamer met ontbijt, aan de landing. De prijs van overnachting en half-pension zal afhangen van het wel of niet willen delen van een kamer. Vooraf sturen we een reservatie lijst uit voor de deelnemers.
Minimum voorwaarden om te kunnen deelnemen aan deze Club Activiteit:
- Piloot brevet of hoger behaald hebben.
- Eigen materiaal hebben.
- Volwaardig lid van de BVVF met verzekering.
