Tandem training

Would you like to share your passion for flying with a passenger? Then you can obtain your tandem pilot rating with us! This training is only open to licensed pilots with a minimum of 200 flights. All conditions to start the training are listed on the BVVF website.

During the tandem pilot training, you are only allowed to fly with a licensed pilot as passenger. You can either form a duo with another tandem pilot candidate and alternate roles as pilot and passenger, or you provide a licensed pilot who flies with you as passenger. This must be arranged by yourself.

This course cannot be booked online. Please contact us to schedule the training.

Training content:

• Training hill flights with solo wing

• Training hill flights with tandem wing

• Tandem high flights

• Tandem theory (exam to be taken with the BVVF)

• Minimum of 10 high flights as pilot

• Practical exam

Included in the price

• Participation in two training hill sessions - usually one is enough

• Participation in one high-flight training course, including transport from landing to take-off*

• Use of the school’s tandem equipment

* If you both want to complete your 10 flights within one single course, it is strongly recommended to arrange your own driver. This allows you to fly independently of the pace of other students.

Minimum requirement :

• Insurance: valid BVVF insurance for solo flying AND tandem flying

• Approval from the federation to start your tandem pilot training
